Whether you need a single day of care for your pet, or someone to keep an eye on your beloved family member while you go out of town, PetWorks has everything you need. Owner Elizabeth Richards is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and has been in business for 20 years, with your pet’s every need in mind.
Doggy Daycare is a PetWorks specialty – they’ve been providing this service longer than anyone else in Lake County. Friendly dogs play off-leash with other dogs of similar size and temperament in both indoor and outdoor play areas. All pets are screened for suitability and are current on vaccinations. Pets 7 months of age or older must be spayed or neutered. The daycare facility has been carefully designed to maximize your pet’s comfort and safety.
Doggy Daycare is offered from 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. weekdays. The PetWorks difference: They limit the number of dogs that attend on a given day. Research has shown that dogs are happier when placed into small groups for playtime. Dogs did not evolve to play in large groups. The group play philosophy many years ago was “the more the merrier.” Daycares would (and many still do) have groups of 20, 30, 40 and more dogs together. PetWorks has opted for the more dog-friendly concept of small playgroups with frequent breaks.
If your dog needs overnight care, PetWorks provides safe and secure lodging for your best friend. Individual Suites are modeled after residential bedrooms and can accommodate up to three dogs from the same family. The Cottages are a lodging choice for small and toy-sized dogs. Overnight-lodging pets enjoy the same privileges as the daycare dogs, including regular exercise and socialization time. PetWorks lodging is for pampered pets that are non-destructive and house-trained – there are no kennel runs or cages.
If you would rather have someone watch your dog in your home, consider it done. PetWorks offers in-home pet care for pets. In-home care is a good option for senior pets, cats or dogs that are best kept at home.
In-home pet care includes feeding your pets and providing potty breaks, exercise, companionship and all-around care. As a courtesy, PetWorks also provides trash/recycling take out, and will bring in mail, newspapers and packages. Due to high demand, this service is offered to a limited geographic area and is based upon availability.
All dogs benefit from training, and PetWorks can refer you to skilled local trainers at the Digging Dogs Training Center in Painesville Township. Digging Dogs offers science-based puppy and adult dog training lessons that use humane methods and positive reinforcement. Training sessions are either in a group setting or a one-on-one private session.
