There is nothing better than toe-tapping music to put you back to simpler times when friends gathered to enjoy conversation, good food and companionship. The Silver String Band’s performance at this year’s Village Peddler Festival held at Lake Metroparks Farmpark on September 16th and 17th will do just that, take you back in time and entice you to slow down and enjoy the quaint outdoor marketplace atmosphere.
The band under the direction of Dave Pethtel had its start some 37 years ago when Dave and George Hanna knew each other as teenagers. Fifteen of those 37 years they have played at the Village Peddler Festival. Festivals, wineries and outdoor venues are most likely where you will find The Silver String Band during the summer months. When asked where the most interesting place the band has performed, the answer was Severance Hall. With a style of music that is up-tempo, exciting and fun, The Silver String Band is said to be one of the best acoustic groups in the Cleveland area.
Entertainment is included in the Village Peddler Festival’s admission price along with all daily Farmpark activities on the 235-acre family friendly facility, wagon rides and corn maze. Admission is $9.00 (ages 12-59), $7.00 (ages 60+), $5.00 (ages 2-11) and under 2 is Free.
