Deposits

Picnic shelters – A $50 refundable deposit is required of Lake County residents wishing to reserve the picnic shelter.
Customers living outside Lake County pay a $50 refundable deposit and a $25 rental fee.

Lake Erie Bluffs shelter – A $100 refundable deposit and a $100 rental fee is required of Lake County residents wishing to reserve the picnic shelter. Customers living outside Lake County pay a $100 refundable deposit and a $150 rental fee. Reservations by phone (440-358-7275) or in person only.

Hidden Lake shelter – A $100 refundable deposit and $100 rental fee is required of Lake County residents wishing to reserve the picnic shelter. Customers living outside Lake County pay a $100 refundable deposit and a $150 rental fee. Reservations by phone (440-358-7275) or in person only.

Payment can be made in person, by phone, online or by mailing the reservation information to Lake Metroparks Registration Department, 11211 Spear Road, Concord Township, Ohio 44077.

Additional shelters available to all on a non-exclusive, shared-use basis.

Chapin Forest Reservation (Ledges Shelter) – Located on Route 306 in Kirtland. Shelter capacity is 60. Park offers pit type restrooms, a playground (near Forest Shelter), hiking trails and pond fishing (near Quarry Shelter). This park has limited access in the winter (open May 1 through November 30).

Fairport Harbor Lakefront Park (West Shelter) – Located at 301 Huntington Beach Dr. in Fairport Harbor. The shelter capacity is 40. Shelter has electricity. Park offers flush type restrooms, a volleyball court, fire ring and a guarded swim area nearby (summer season only, weather permitting).

Hell Hollow Wilderness Area – Located on Leroy Center Road (Thompson zip code 44086). Shelter capacity is 75. Park offers pit type restrooms, a swingset and hiking trails. A high cliff top with a loop trail and steps that provide a dramatic descent into the creek valley are found here.

Hogback Ridge Park – Located on Emerson Rd in Madison Twp. Shelter capacity is 40. Park offers pit type restrooms, hiking trails and grills.

Painesville Township Park – Located on Hardy Rd. in Painesville Twp. The shelter capacity is 75. Park offers flush type restrooms, playground, ballfields (reservations required) and beautiful views of Lake Erie.

Paine Falls Park – Located on Paine Rd. in Leroy Twp. The shelter capacity is 40. Shelter does not have electricity. Park offers pit type restroom, grills and scenic waterfall.
