Over the last four months, AVID Construction in partnership with Bill Martin and Barrington Development has designed, constructed and completed a state-of the-art optical facility in Mentor. The 5,000 square foot facility is the new home of Family Eyecare Clinic. Located on the border of Mentor and Willoughby at 7200 Mentor Avenue, this new facility makes three locations for Family Eyecare Clinic with the other two located in Highland Heights and Painesville.
What made this build–out so unique for AVID Construction was the design phase of the project. Patient flow was of the upmost concern when designing the space. “Additional time was put into the blue print stage with owner, Dr. Brian Kane to make sure the patient’s experience and visit was efficient from arrival in the parking lot through the exam process and exit of the office,” states AVID owner Joe Tracz. “We set out to complete the project, exceed expectations and add value to the patient’s visit.”
The Mentor Avenue location was chosen due to easy access within Lake County and proximity to eastern Cuyahoga County, the large amount of square footage available, and the ample amount of parking on a flat surface for easy patient access. With a total of 5,000 square feet, Family Eyecare Clinic has six exam rooms, two testing areas, an in-house lens cutter and two labs. The larger space has allowed for the practice’s frame collection to be expanded with many more selections to choose from. The bigger facility has also provided the practice with an expansion of its staff with three new positions added.
The completion of the new facility and home for Family Eyecare Clinic has brought together many Lake County companies. “Our goal is to use as many local companies as we can on our jobs,” states Tracz. We were pleased to be able to accomplish our goal in this design to build project while working with Barrington Homes, Best Supply and Mentor Lumber.
