Rain, snow and ice, isn’t it nice? Winter in Northeast Ohio can bring many unexpected surprises but also many fun adventures. Bring family and friends for a good time during Fun Day Monday on January 21st, at Penitentiary Glen Reservation. This event is free for all ages.
Stop by the Nature Center between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. and explore inside and outside activities while enjoying them in hands-on ways. Enjoy scavenger hunts, a seasonal nature craft, s’mores, animal programs and much more! Naturalists will be on hand to answer all of your nature-related questions and to help guide you through the day.
Inside the Nature Center, visitors can interact with hands-on nature exhibits and displays, watch for wildlife through the “Window on Wildlife” and browse the Nature Store for nature-themed gifts ideas and bird feeders, t-shirts, field guides, toys, children’s books and more.
Outside, explore the interactive Nature Play area (weather permitting), sign out an X-Plorer pack filled with seasonal hands-on activities, see our wildlife animal ambassadors in the Kevin P. Clinton Wildlife Center yard and hike on more than 8.5 miles of trails.
The Nature Center and Wildlife Center are open 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Nature Store is open until 4:30 p.m.
Join us for the upcoming Fun Day Monday on February 18th (Presidents’ Day) and Fun Day Friday during spring break on April 19th.
