Great Lakes Mall, Mentor’s family friendly shopping destination, will host the 5th Annual Deepwood Idol talent competition for individuals with special needs on Saturday, April 2, at 2 p.m. near the Macy’s entrance.
The event will feature local singers, dancers, comedians and other unique talents in honor of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, which acknowledges individuals with disabilities across the state of Ohio.
“This special contest is a heart-warming experience for everyone involved and a wonderful reason to bring families to Great Lakes Mall,” said Kate Miller, marketing director at Great Lakes Mall. “We are proud to host this event every year, as well as provide local residents with a great place to shop, dine and spend quality time together.”
The talented individuals participating in this event will compete for prizes and recognition among the judges and Great Lakes Mall shoppers. D.J. Jeremy James will emcee the event with judges consisting of local celebrities, including Tricia Ambrose, Lorraine Fende, Diana Lewis, Judy Moran, Dan Troy and Kevin Malecek.
