Don’t Miss the 26th Annual Parade the Circle Event on June 13

Parade of Circle FB

For the past 25 years, the Cleveland Museum of Art and University Circle Inc. have been hosting this free, family-friendly event, and on Saturday, June 13th, they’ll do it again.

Join the fun at University Circle for the 26th annual as guest artists lead families, schools, and community groups in the parade, which features a fabulous display of people-powered, handmade floats and imaginative costumes, larger-than-life puppets, and stilt-walkers that you won’t want to miss.

The festival runs from 11 am until 4 pm, but the parade steps off at noon.

While you’re at University Circle, be sure to make time to experience Circle Village, which features over 40 tents staffed by local institutions and organizations. While there, you’ll find free crafts, activities, and information for kids of all ages. Tents are open until 4 pm, allowing plenty of time for everyone in your group to find their favorite activity.

The kids may choose to put on a happy face at the Center for Families and Children face painting tent. Your little artist may enjoy creating a colorful leaf pattern with help from the Cleveland Botanical Garden & The Holden Arboretum. The music-lover in your group may prefer to create a one-of-a-kind noise-making animal with the Cleveland Institute of Art. Your future paleontologist may choose the dinosaur craft at the Museum of Natural History Museum’s tent. Take time to enjoy some popcorn and a puppet show at the Cleveland Public Library tent. The sports-enthusiast in your group can bowl on a miniature outdoor alley, or create and fun flying disk. Other tents will show you how to make a reusable bag out of duct tape, or help you say ‘thank you’ to hero by creating a card for a hospitalized Veteran.

As many as 2,000 visitors are anticipated to attend and help celebrate Cleveland’s diversity this year. The Ohio City Bike Co-op will provide free, secure bicycle parking; free car parking will be available at the VA Hospital on Magnolia Drive and East 105th Street. University Circle District’s free Circle Link shuttle bus will be on hand to transport guests to the festivities every 20 minutes until 5:30 pm. Make plans to attend Parade the Circle, and treat yourself and your family to this fabulous festival of artistry and fun.
