Fiddler on the Roof has captivated audiences since it premiered on Broadway in 1964, being the first musical to run more than 3,000 performances. It follows the story of a milkman, Tevye, and his five daughters who live in a small Jewish village in 1903. The appeal of this musical are the mesmerizing songs which include “If I Were a Rich Man,” “Matchmaker, Matchmaker,” “Sunrise, Sunset,” and the universal themes of love, family, and tradition in changing times.
Douglas F. Bailey II returns to Silhouette Productions to direct this production after performing last year as Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls. His stage experience is extensive and includes roles as Shrek in Shrek: the Musical and Leo Bloom in The Producers. Music Director D. Keith Stiver has worked in a similar capacity at many theaters in Northeast Ohio including Aurora, Chagrin Valley Little Theatre, and Garfield Players.
Silhouette Productions Fiddler on the Roof carries a strong family theme into their cast and crew with regional families Angers, DiDonatos, Douglasses, Ferlitos, McGarrys, Minders, Mirabiles, Tecsons, and Sills taking part at all levels.
