Home & Lifestyle Expo Returning to Great Lakes Mall

expo fbGreat Lakes Mall will welcome local businesses the weekend of Feb. 20 and 21 when the Lake County Chambers of Commerce hosts its annual Home & Lifestyle Expo at the mall.  The timing for the Expo could not be more fitting.

Cabin fever will have set in and thoughts of sprucing up the inside and outside of homes are in the works in hopes of warmer weather.  The Home & Lifestyle Expo is designed to bring together exhibitors, demonstrations, presentations and entertainment while providing ideas, inspiration and solutions.

The Expo will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, and run until 6 .pm.  Sunday’s hours will be 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.  The weekend promises to provide attendees ideas, inspiration, innovative products and practical advice in remodeling, home improvement, gardening and lifestyle.  Representatives from local companies will be onsite to talk with attendees about all aspects of home improvement both inside and out along with sharing their products and services.

New this year and located in the Sears Concourse is a 9-hole putt-putt course presented by Leadership Lake County, Class of 2016.  Each of the holes are themed around its sponsor, Brown Aveda Institute, Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Debonne Vineyards, J’s Pizza Market, Keller Williams Realty, Lake County Public Libraries, Lake Health, Laketran and Perry IGA.  Putt-Putt greens were designed and constructed by Auburn Career Center students.  All are welcome to play with the $2 entry fee benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Ohio

Entertainment and education will be a big part of the Expo.  The entertainment stage located in front of Macy’s will be home to a variety of presentations and demonstrations.  Saturday’s lineup includes an 11:30 a.m. Faux and Floral Design demonstration by Store with Style design team member Sassy & Classy Designs along with a Kitchen Design Planning presentation by fellow Store with Style design team member Deborah A. Stern at 1:30 p.m.  Fashion will take the stage in the afternoon with a fun Fashion Dash both casual (1 p.m.) and night out attire (2:30 p.m.) followed by a 3:30 p.m. Fashion Show with models provided by Leadership Lake County.

Sunday’s stage highlights are live music by the band “Young & Blue” (2 p.m.) and a Salon Showcase from 12:30 – 2 p.m. where first local salons will perform live makeovers demonstrating hairstyles transforming from the office to a night on the town and then  Willoughby-Eastlake City Schools Cosmetology students will showcase prom updos.

The first 250 attendees each day will receive a free gift bag.  Gift bags will be distributed at the Lake County Chamber of Commerce booth located at the top of the food court.

All attendees over the age of 21 will have the chance to enter a raffle drawing to win a $500 mall gift card.  To participate simply pick up an entry card at any one of the exhibitors’ booths.  Have the card stamped by at least 25 of the participating exhibitors and then submit the card to the stage to be entered into the drawing.  The winner will be contacted by phone on Monday, Feb. 22.
