Mentor – Known as the area’s largest free kids and family event, the 17th Annual KidShow returns to Great Lakes Mall in Mentor on Saturday, March 21 from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, March 22 from 12 pm to 5 pm. The KidShow features hundreds of kids and family products and services as well as continuous entertainment, activities, crafts, cookie decorating, prizes, play area, snack attacks, local authors, roaming costume characters and all kinds of surprises!
Designed to get good information into busy parents’ hands, attendees will have the opportunity to gather information and have their questions answered directly by company representatives. “Having so many resources available all in one place makes family decision-making and planning much easier,” states Pat Perry of ProMark Enterprises, KidShow owner and producer. “We have planned for 85 exhibitors to be on-site complimenting the areas and activities ProMark provides. There will be schools and sports, music and activities, camps and vacations and everything in between. Along with sharing information, many of the exhibitors will also be sharing interactive activities with attending families.”
Not only will you gather useful information but the KidShow features some of the coolest activities for your kids to enjoy! The Kids Counter this year features free crafts and activities with Lakeshore Learning, Lake County 4-H, Barnes and Noble, Mentor Public Library, Eat’n Park and the Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library. Older kids will enjoy the on-site OMG! truck located on top of the Fuji Concourse. This climate-controlled mobile video gaming theater has computer controlled sound, lighting and special effects guaranteed to provide an over-the-top gaming experience. All ages will enjoy engaging with exhibitors, playing trivia and music bingo for prizes, checking out the stage entertainment and even grabbing a snack during our Snack Attacks!
Come early on Saturday and be one of the first 500 families to register at the Registration Center at the top of the food court and get one of only 500 free KidShow goody bags. One lucky bag will hold a red envelope with (2) Super Passes valuing $280 to Sky Zone Cleveland! Passes can be used for open jump and sky fit classes. A great way to experience awesome healthy fun!
Check out the NEW area “Made in the CLE”. Coordinated in partnership with The Cleveland Culinary Launch & Kitchen, this area will feature food and retail products for purchase made right here in Cleveland. A great way to support local companies.
Returning this year is the Teddy Bear Clinic in front of Foot Locker hosted by nurses from Cleveland Clinic Children’s pediatric emergency department at Hillcrest Hospital. From 12-3pm each day, bears will be provided, one per child, and kids will learn firsthand with their bear what it is like to go to the doctor or hospital.
From music and magic to twirling and dancing, the KidShow features entertainment that’s great for the whole family! Returning to the stage since their first KidShow performance in 2009 is the young pop/rock band Recess. This young band has made headlines across the United States. They became an internet sensation and received worldwide recognition when they were featured on Yahoo in April of 2009 in a video from the KidShow! Band members Vincent Fondale, lead vocalist at age 15; Anthony Fondale, his brother, keyboard player and back-up vocals at age 19; Alex Rax, lead guitarist and back-up vocals at age 17; and Arslan Khan, drummer and back-up vocals at age 19 will perform on stage at 2:30pm on Saturday. Recess is just one of the many wonderful stage performances over the two-day event. It’s a guarantee that no matter when you choose to join us at the KidShow, you’ll be in for a great show!
