Kids Eat Free Day is Coming to Moe’s Southwest Grill – To Celebrate Kids Can Enter a Moe’s Mini Chef Contest

MENTOR, OH (April 17, 2021):  Sundays are looking even better now that Moe’s Southwest Grill is turning Sundays into fun days with Kids Eat Free!  Starting Sunday, April 18, for every adult entrée purchase of $6 or more, one kids meal will be available to children 12 and under. Children can customize their kids meal with a kid-sized burrito, taco or quesadilla.  Cookie and drink are included!

“We know, being parents ourselves of young children, that it can become very expensive for families to eat out or takeout these days,” states Ryan O’Hare, Moe’s owner.  Kids Eat Free on Sunday makes it that much easier to treat the family to a meal and take the deserving break out of the kitchen!  Sundays are known to be a day filled with family time and we don’t want the time and effort needed to prepare good food to be an obstacle.  We have chosen to celebrate family on Sundays with this offer at our Mayfield Heights, South Euclid and two Mentor locations.”  The free kids meal is available for dine in or takeout.

To celebrate the launch of Kids Eat Free, Moe’s Southwest Grill nationwide is running a Mini Chef Contest giving kids an opportunity to create and name their very own kids menu item.  Guests are accustomed to making choices at Moe’s while selecting from the many fresh ingredients available to build the perfect meal they’re craving and now kids get to join in.  This is a fun way to bring personalization to a whole new level.

One lucky winner will receive a free trip for two to a Moe’s test kitchen where they’ll have a VIP food tasting with Caroline Morris, Moe’s Executive Chef, a personal photoshoot with their custom menu item which will be available in Moe’s restaurants across the country and a year’s supply of Moe’s chocolate chip cookies.

Navigating meal time with children who are picky eaters is no easy feat as parents can struggle to find meals that aren’t just tasty, but also feature fresh, quality ingredients they can feel good about and the whole family enjoys. The Kids Eat Free program will allow more access to those foods at Moe’s and the Moe’s Mini Chef Contest gives kids the chance to explore their tastes in new ways.

“Kids love to help in the kitchen, so the Moe’s Mini Chef Contest is the perfect way to encourage our youngest fans to experiment with great tasting ingredients like all-natural white meat chicken, handcrafted guac or made-in-house pico and salsas,” states Morris.  “The possibilities are endless and we’re excited to give kids an opportunity to have fun and get creative in the kitchen with their families. We can’t wait to see all the delicious creations to come!”

Here’s how it works:

  • Now through May 16, families can enter the contest via www.moes.com/minichef
  • Moe’s Executive Chef will select three finalists based on the menu item’s creativity, flavor combination and ability to capture the essence of Moe’s
  • On May 31, fans can head to Moe’s Facebook (@MoesSouthwestGrill) to cast their vote for their favorite creation and to determine the winner
  • The winner will be announced on Facebook on June 10

About Moe’s Southwest Grill

“Welcome to Moe’s!” More than 20 years ago the Southwest fare restaurant opened in Atlanta, Georgia with these very words.  Still today, this is the greeting received when entering Moe’s because well, everybody should feel welcomed.  Cleveland’s east side saw its first Moe’s Southwest Grill with the opening of a Mentor location in 2015 by the O’Hare family.  To date the O’Hare’s locally own and operate four locations with the additional three being in Mayfield Heights, South Euclid and a second Mentor location.  Moe’s guests can create whatever they’re craving with fresh, healthy ingredient choices.  Famous for Mexican burritos, queso and the free chips and salsa that come with every order, the Moe’s build your own Taco, Fajita and Nacho Kits are soon to be added to the favorites list.  Known as a community partner, Moe’s looks forward to helping others raise funds through their Taco Kit Fundraisers.
