The Lake County YMCA will be hosting its 14th Annual West End 5K Run and two-mile Walk on Sunday, May 1 starting at 9:00 am at the West End Y in Willoughby. Proceeds from the race help the Y provide opportunities for membership and participation in life-changing programs to adults, children and families in Lake County.
“At the Y, we know people are hardwired to move and hardwired to give. When you participate in our race, you make the heart stronger through movement and you lift your spirit by giving to a great cause,” said Margaret Warner, Healthy Living Director.
Age groups are defined as: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over. Awards will be given to the top finisher of each age group and the top overall 3 finishers. Top male and female walkers will also receive awards.
Check-in begins at 8 a.m. on race day with the run/walk beginning at 9 a.m. The race route will begin and end at the Lake County West End Y as it twists around historic downtown Willoughby. Electronic timing will be available to runners.
Pre-registration packet pickup available at the West End Y on Saturday, April 30 from 3-4 pm. Pre-registration Fee is $20 per person (ages 15 & up) and $10 for youth (ages 14 & under) until April 31.
Race Day Fee is $25 per person (ages 15 & up) and $15 for youth (ages 14 & under) and includes a free t-shirt (No guarantee on shirt size after April 13) . Pre-register online here or call 440-946-1160, registration is accepted until the morning of the race.
