Great Lakes Mall, Mentor’s family friendly shopping destination, will host a Healthy Heart Mall Walking Event, presented by Lake Health, on Friday, February 26, at 9:30 a.m.
Local residents are invited to meet in the Main Concourse near Macy’s for health screenings by Lake Health professionals, a hot, heart-healthy breakfast and a fashion show featuring local ambassadors for heart health.
The Great Lakes Mall Walking Program attracts more than 600 walkers every week and continues to grow. Mall walkers can “get their steps in” and visit any of the various health stations, where Lake Health representatives will conduct free screenings, including blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol, as well as offer tips and tricks about how to live a healthier lifestyle.
“It’s exciting to be able to collaborate with Lake Health to encourage men and women to focus on their general well-being,” said Kate Miller, marketing director at Great Lakes Mall. “Great Lakes Mall is proud to host this fun and fashionable effort as a vital community landmark.”
In addition, shoppers will enjoy a fashion show, featuring local male and female ambassadors for heart health, including the Fire Chief of Fairport, the Fire Chief of Painesville, the Lake Health Director of the Wellness Institute and RNs, who will sport signature looks from Macy’s. Each of these heroes represents a profession that directly impacts those who experience a heart attack.
