Mentor Safety Town, sponsored and presented by the Junior Women’s Club of Mentor and supported by the Mentor Police and Fire Departments, along with the Mentor Public Library and Mentor School System is celebrating 37 years of child education. Safety Town is an awareness program to teach young children safety while providing parents with peace of mind and talking points for reinforcing their child’s safety.
This successful program in safety and education for our local children is taught and directed by caring and experienced state board licensed teachers, local police officers and firefighters. Included in the program are classes on fire, water safety, stranger-danger, animal, street, playground, and bus safety along with poison prevention. An outdoor interactive, mini town teaches bike rules and pedestrian instruction, using traffic signals and following traffic signs.
Registration is open to children ages 4 (as of June 1, 2024), 5 and 6 in the Lake County Community and surrounding areas.
