Moe’s Southwest Grill Teamed Up with Mentor Football for a Dinner Win!

Pre-Purchased Pop Up Taco Kit Event Raised Fun & Funds

MENTOR, OH (May 29, 2020) Recognizing the need for organizations to fundraise with a lack of options during the pandemic, owners Ryan and Ashley O’Hare of Moe’s Southwest Grill got creative when thinking of how they could help others with their fundraising efforts.  “We are all about the food and the family experience which is why our new Build Your Own Taco Kit is perfect to offer as a fundraising option.  Easy, convenient and plenty of food and fun,” states Ryan O’Hare.

After becoming aware of a fundraiser, the Mentor High School’s football boosters had to cancel due to COVID-19, the O’Hares reached out offering to host a Pop Up Taco Kit Event by the stadium.  “I loved the idea right out of the gate, said Mentor’s new head football coach, Matt Gray.  “It was fun, creative and gave me the opportunity to say “hello” to supporters of Mentor football.  I have to tell you; the Moe’s team brought their A-Game as it could not have been run any more efficiently.” With the $5 donation back per purchased kit, the Redline Club received $400 for the hour event and has plans to offer the taco kits again in another Pop Up Event once the players get back to practicing.

Families love the taco kits as they are an easy, convenient dinner, hot and ready to eat.  Great for indoor or outdoor meals.  Each kit serves 4-5 and comes with 12 soft flour tortillas, your choice of 2 proteins, lettuce, shredded cheese, pico de gallo, rice, beans, sour cream and of course a bowl of Moe’s famous queso.  As usual, the chips and salsa are on Moe’s!  “With two of the four Moe’s Southwest Grill locations our family owns right here in Mentor, we were thrilled to be able to help our local football program raise funds to benefit the athletes, said O’Hare.   Coach Gray was terrific to work with and he even got into greeting our guests with the famous “Welcome to Moe’s” shout-out as the cars pulled up.”

Pop Up Taco Kit Events are held in neighborhoods for a convenient dinner meal and are also available for any type of group fundraising opportunity.  To schedule a “drive up/drive thru” event in your neighborhood or as a fundraiser for your organization, call Ashley O’Hare at 440-773-1128.

About Moe’s Southwest Grill

“Welcome to Moe’s!” More than 20 years ago the Southwest fare restaurant opened in Atlanta, Georgia with these very words and still today, this is the greeting received when entering Moe’s because well, everybody should feel welcomed. To date there are more than 700 locations in the U.S. and abroad but here on the east side of Cleveland there are four which are locally owned and operated by the O’Hare family.  Over the last 6 years the O’Hares have grown from a single east side of Mentor restaurant in 2015 to four locations with the additional three being in Mayfield Heights, South Euclid and a second Mentor location.  Moe’s guests can create whatever they’re craving with the 20+ fresh ingredients. Famous for burritos, queso and the free chips and salsa that come with every order, the new Moe’s Build Your own Taco Kit is soon to be added to the favorites list.
