Noted Physician to Speak on ADHD

As a part of its continuing Speakers Series, First Church Congregational will host Dr. Morris W. Levinsohn, a well-known Pediatric Neurologist and expert on Attention Deficit Hyper-Activity Disorder (ADHD), who will speak to an open audience at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30. First Church Congregational is on the Square in Downtown Painesville.

During his presentation, Dr. Levinsohn will focus on ADHD in all ages, its management, myths and misperceptions often portrayed in media. To assure seating, those who are interested should contact the church by phone, Facebook or through its website.

Dr. Levinsohn, treats patients from offices in Willoughby and Beachwood, specializing in child and adolescent psychiatry and clinical neurophysiology. His broad professional background also includes general dentistry, neurology, chiropractic neurology, neurology physical therapy, pediatric physical therapy, neurology diagnostic neuroimaging, forensic psychiatry, hospice and palliative medicine, psychosomatic medicine, pain medicine and other specialties.

His medical degree is from the University of Cape Town, Cape Town South Africa. He has been in NE Ohio since the mid-1970’s. After a Fellowship at Cleveland’s Rainbow Babies and Children, Dr. Levinsohn remained in Cleveland, where, throughout the years, he has taught pediatric neurology and other academic areas at Case Western Reserve and through University Hospitals. He practices at University Hospitals, has published countless professional papers and abstracts, has orchestrated medical 10K races and marathons and is currently a member of the Northern Ohio Neurology Society, Northern Ohio Pediatric Society, Child Neurology Society and American Academy of Neurology.

His presentation continues the First Church Congregational Speakers Series, which has, thus far, included Dr. Misty Senz on two topics of wellness and sugar addiction. The speaker on Oct. 21 will be Lisa Ryan, a best-selling author and sought-after keynote speaker who will focus on “gratitude” in workplace culture, employee engagement, and gratitude strategies
