Children from 1st-5th grade are invited to spend two November school days at the Lake County YMCA East End. They’ll be participating in Wonka Wednesday on November 26 and Block Friday on November 28.
On Wonka Wednesday, students will spend the day being thankful for candy! They’ll make some candy, do crafts with candy, watch a movie about candy (staring Willy Wonka, of course), and maybe even eat some candy by the end of it.
On Block Friday, kids will build with different types of construction blocks, take part in architecture contests, and watch “The LEGO Movie.”
Children will need to bring a packed lunch, along with swim gear and appropriate clothes for outdoor play.
“School Days Off” are open to all students in grades 1-5, and run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with extended care from 7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m. Registration fees are $25 per day for member children and $35 for nonmembers (extended care will be an additional $5 for nonmembers). There is also a sibling discount: each child is $20/$30, depending on membership status.
