Once you try this beef brisket rub, you may never try another! Most of you already have the ingredients in your pantry, making this rub simple and cost effective. When you cook your brisket be sure to do so slowly in a slow cooker or Dutch oven for at least 5-6 hours at 250 degrees and this way your brisket will be tender, moist, and flavorful!
Don’t be afraid to use a smoked beef brisket with this rub. In fact the flavor goes beyond anything you may have ever tasted before! Serve your favorite potatoes, fruit, and vegetables alongside your brisket for a great, healthy family meal. If you have any beef brisket leftovers, thinly slice the meat for great next day sandwiches!
- 2 tablespoons kosher or coarse salt
- 2 teaspoons coarse black pepper (use fresh cracked pepper)
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon oregano leaves (dried)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 1 6 lb. beef brisket
Mix the ingredients together in a medium sized bowl.
Prepare the meat by brushing the surface with oil before you begin applying the rub.
Be sure to apply this rub 2 to 4 hours before cooking.
The rubbed meat can be refrigerated overnight, which will increase the flavor slightly.
