Great Lakes Mall, Mentor’s family friendly shopping destination, will host its annual Easter festivities, giving shoppers the chance to participate in both traditional and unique seasonal celebrations. Families are invited to capture lasting impressions from Friday, March 4, through Saturday, March 26.
“We’re excited to continue this family tradition which creates memories for a lifetime,” said Kate Miller, marketing director at Great Lakes Mall. “Great Lakes Mall is very much a part of this community as the place for friends and family to shop, dine and spend time together.”
Easter Bunny Photo Experience
The Bunny Photo Experience at Great Lakes Mall, sponsored by Auburn Career Center, provides the opportunity for children to visit with the Easter Bunny and take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion from March 4 – 26.
Auburn Career Center’s Landscape Horticulture students built the elaborate Easter Bunny set, which was designed by Architecture Project Management students. The live set will include sitting areas, a water feature and will be lush with assorted evergreens, flowering trees and shrubs, assorted perennials and flower bulbs, emphasizing the colors of spring.
Auburn Career Center provides an innovative career and technical education that empowers all learners to excel in the emerging workplace and enrich their community. This exhibit allows Auburn Career Center the opportunity to showcase their students’ talents.
Hop Into Spring
Families are invited to Hop Into Spring during this seasonal event at the Easter Bunny Garden, located in the Dillard’s South Concourse, on March 12 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Kids will enjoy a fun, festive day celebrating the arrival of spring with arts and crafts, interactive games, raffle prizes, a balloon twister and a special appearance from the much loved Easter Bunny.
Great Lakes Mall’s annual Sensitive Bunny event will offer children with special needs a subdued environment to participate in the Bunny Photo Experience on March 13 from 8 – 10 a.m. Many steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for children’s cherished visit with the Bunny. The subdued environment will include:
- Turning off in-mall music and dimming the lights for the duration of the event
- Eliminating queue lines through the use of a numbering system whereby guests approach the set when their number is called
- Special activities geared toward the needs of the child during the ‘wait’ period to help the child understand what activities will occur during the visit
