Annual Family Event Marks 22nd Year
MENTOR, OHIO – The time of year may be different, as the KidShow is typically in late March, but the September 25 & 26 event will not fall short of the fun, activities and resources available at this two-day free event! The event location has always been the Great Lakes Mall, selected by local Mentor company, ProMark Enterprises, Inc. who owns and produces the KidShow. “I chose to rent the mall as the event venue due to space, ample parking and the fact that it is a public facility which means it’s free for all to attend, states KidShow owner, Patty Perry. Now in its 22nd year, that original choice has proven to be a good one! If you have not attended the KidShow, be ready for a mall takeover of exhibitors, activity stations, costume characters, giveaways, prizes, family fun and entertainment.
The event serves as a resource for parents and a link for companies to connect with customers. Focused on anything and everything about and for kids, the KidShow is a bridge to great products and services parents need and are seeking. Sprinkled with a whole lot of fun and entertainment, the KidShow makes for a family fun outing!
“We have a great group of companies, entertainers and organizations who work with us each year coming back this year and are ready to bring their A-game,” states Perry. Exhibitors have been ready to share their products, services and talents since March of 2020 when just short of two weeks to the event date, the KidShow had to pause as the Pandemic was upon us. We will be set up in a safe manner with exhibitors spaced throughout the mall and plenty of hand sanitizer. We strongly recommend exhibitors wear masks but we are adhering to all of the Great Lakes Mall and Lake County Health Districts COVID-19 guidelines which at present does not require masking. The move to September is only for 2021 with a plan to return to the month of March in 2022.
A favorite each year, Dr. U.R. Awesome, will be returning to the KidShow on Saturday from 12:00 pm-3:00 pm and you will find him just off the Food Court. The Professional Bubbleologist and perennial world record setter, 11x Guinness World Record Winner for various soap bubble records will be putting kids and adults into bubbles. Sounds crazy but so much fun!
Be one of the first 250 families each day to stop at the Registration Center at the top of the Food Court and you will get a free KidShow goody bag! One lucky bag will hold a red envelope with an Adventure Zone certificate for a Birthday or any Party Celebration for 10 guests! There will be plenty of prizes and snacks as well all weekend long given away from the KidShow stage located by the Dick’s Sporting Goods concourse. Skipper, the Lake County Captains mascot, will assist the KidShow staff with some fun and giveaways from the stage at noon on Saturday!
Make sure you stop by the Cleveland Clinic Children’s booth located in front of White Barn on Saturday when Kristi, a balloon artist from Everything Balloonz, will be twisting up super fun creations!
“The opportunity we set out to create with the KidShow is one for parents to spend time with their kids at a free event filled with hours of activities and fun,” states Perry. “The outcome we seek is children inspired by others through entertainment and interactive participation and parents gaining a wealth of new knowledge and resources to make good family choices.” As you can imagine, the coordination of the KidShow is a large undertaking but for the staff at ProMark, this yearly event is a true labor of love.
