Their programs have a strong history of shaping future leaders:
- Two-thirds of NASA’s career astronauts were once Scouts.
- 20 of the 24 men who flew to the Moon (1968–1972) had been Scouts, including 11 of the 12 who walked on its surface.
- Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the Moon, was an Eagle Scout.
- Steven Spielberg, the legendary filmmaker, got his start making movies for his Photography Merit Badge.
- William Byron, Daytona 500 winner, is an Eagle Scout.
Get Involved and Explore the Outdoors
Scouting leaders will be at the KidShow to connect with families and invite them to upcoming meetings. They actively partner with local schools and community organizations, providing students with opportunities to explore hundreds of acres of forests, wetlands, rivers, and lakes while engaging in team-building challenges and real-world educational experiences.
